Clinical chemistry testing plays a vital role in modern healthcare, providing valuable information that helps clinicians assess health status, diagnose medical conditions, monitor diseases, and evaluate treatment effectiveness. Through the analysis of blood and other bodily fluids, laboratories generate accurate data that supports informed clinical decision-making and patient care.
Clinical chemistry, also known as clinical biochemistry or chemical pathology, is the branch of laboratory medicine concerned with the analysis of bodily fluids for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Laboratory testing is often performed as part of routine health assessments, disease diagnosis, treatment monitoring, and ongoing patient management.
Chemistry panels are groups of laboratory tests routinely performed on a blood sample to evaluate a patient's overall health. These panels help assess electrolyte balance, monitor organ function, and identify potential abnormalities that may require further clinical investigation. By combining multiple related tests, chemistry panels provide a comprehensive overview of a patient's physiological condition.
Blood chemistry tests measure the concentration of specific substances within a blood sample. The results help clinicians evaluate the function of major organs, detect abnormalities, monitor chronic conditions, and identify early signs of disease.
Examples include measuring blood glucose levels for metabolic assessment, monitoring liver function, and detecting indicators of infection, inflammation, or tissue injury.
The user can add urgent samples (STAT) at any time. The STAT samples can be placed in free positions of the sample tray, and they will be processed with priority.
It’s possible to program pre-dilution and the post-dilution in case of “Out of Linearity / High limit”, “Substrate Depletion”, “Out of Reference Range”.
It is possible to program the pre-dilution for each application.
It is also possible to schedule post-dilution on demand or automatically (according to predetermined rules).
The “Time to End” option is available only for Miura One; for the other models, refer to the declared test throughput and to the status of the running displayed in the Status Panel.
